Shallow M6.2 earthquake hits Komandorskiye Ostrova, Russia
A strong and shallow earthquake registered by the USGS as M6.2 hit just north of Komandorskiye Ostrova, Russia at 02:10 UTC on January 25, 2018. The agency is reporting a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). GS RAS is reporting the same magnitude and depth. This is the 6th M6+ earthquake over the past 10 days; it comes one day after M6.2 in Japan and two days after M6.0 in Java, Indonesia and M7.9 SE of Kodiak, Alaska.
