Trump does three favors to Putin
Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC), the judicial body that issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin in 2023.
The decision was welcomed by the Kremlin, along with two other recent U.S. initiatives—one banning sanctions against oligarchs close to Moscow and another halting investigations into Russian influence.
However, Russia may soon face tougher economic sanctions, as the U.S. aims to pressure Vladimir Putin into negotiating peace in Ukraine after nearly three years of war.
According to The Moscow Times, citing a source close to the Kremlin, the Russian government reportedly called Trump's move "great news" and added that the ICC had become too "arrogant" and that Washington had put it back in its place.
