Roseau, Dominica – Wednesday, November 5, 2014 – A high level delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George will visit the Commonwealth of Dominica on from November 4-6, 2014.
The purpose of this high level visit is to launch a series of major charitable projects in the areas of education, community welfare and national patrimony and to engage with key state, parliamentary and religious authorities to better understand their needs and to agree on a series of worthy charitable projects to be supported by the Order and for the direct benefit of the citizens of Dominica.
The high level delegation will be led by His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro and 59th Grand Master, and His Eminence Renato Raffaele Cardinal Martino, Cardinal Protodeacon of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and Grand Prior, and will also include Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Castro and His Excellency Sir Anthony Bailey, OBE, Secretary General and Magistral Delegate for Inter-Religious Relations.
The delegation will also include members of the Order’s worldwide Magisterial Charitable Council including The Rt Hon Baroness Scotland of Asthal, QC, Mr Francesco Baroni, Chief of Protocol and Dr Xhoana Papakostandini, Chief of Staff to the Secretary General.
During the visit, the delegation will make courtesy calls on His Excellency and President Charles A. Savarin, Prime Minister the Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit; participate in an Institutional Exchange of Honours Ceremony; and meet with senior government officials and members of the Clergy.
The Cardinal Grand Prior of the Constantinian Order His Eminence Cardinal Renato Raffaele Martino will celebrate Holy Mass with Cardinal Kelvin Felix and Bishop of Roseau Gabriel Malziare at the Our Lady of Fair Haven Cathedral in Roseau on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 5:00pm.
The delegation will also visit the Cathedral Renovation Project and proposed site for the Youth Centre (former Hostel of St Mary’s Academy) which have been identified as areas for charitable contributions from the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George.
The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George is an internationally recognized Roman Catholic Order of Knighthood headquartered in Rome and dedicated to the defense of the Roman Catholic faith and to furthering charitable, humanitarian, and interfaith activities around the world.
This official visit to Dominica is part of a wider regional visit including stops in Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Barbados during which the order is expected to formally launch an Order Delegation for the Caribbean and to identify charitable projects for support.
