Alert: U.S. Military Goes Into Full Nuclear Readiness Mode (Video)

The US Military appeared to be at heightened alert status on Sunday, according to the privately-run website known as Defcon Warning System. The report was followed by a change on their website indicating a potential DEFCON 3.
The official DEFCON system prescribes five graduated levels of readiness for the U.S. military. It increases in severity from DEFCON 5 (least severe) to DEFCON 1 (most severe) to match varying military situations. Often confused with THREATCON, a system primarily used to indicate threats related to terrorism, the DEFCON status specifically deals with any potential military threat to the nation as a whole.
“Multiple sources have confirmed unusual strategic activity in the United States and Russia. Information coming to the DEFCON Warning System indicates high level maneuvers to defuse whatever situation is occurring,” the website stated. “At this time, U.S. and Russian forces are in the air, likely moving to control points. We have no reports of any engagements. Domestic assets are moving into defensive positions.”
War Monitor had notified DEFCON of information provided to us by our own sources, which corroborated much of what was being stated.
Prior to the announcement, our own ADSB flight monitoring team took notice of an increase in military flight traffic. This included routine flights of several E-4B and E-6B aircraft. The primary function of these planes is to act as a flying communications center to ensure that the US military can still respond in the event of a first nuclear strike.
According to a source, this also included the departure of several US bombers, which were allegedly armed with nuclear weapons. We shared this information with the DEFCON research team, who concurred through their own sources that these flights were in fact taking place. Though bombers generally fly with their transponders turned off, we did take notice of several civilian aircraft being redirected around the bases where they were said to have departed from. On one base, which primarily holds B-52 bombers, a local witness mentioned that all of the aircraft that was normally stationed there had taken off.
Military radio traffic had also increased in activity, with many operators speaking out of distress. Some transmissions included errors not normally heard in these types of communication. An encrypted digital signal was also heard on 11175 Mhz, something that had never been noticed by our own radio interception team in the past (listen below). This channel is generally reserved for Emergency Action Messages, which were also quite excessive across most USAF frequencies on Sunday and Monday.
ADSB monitors reported that the skies in both Europe and the US were flooded with military aircraft. This continued up until yesterday, when the appearance of NATO aircraft diminished over Europe. The skies above the US, however, continue to remain covered with strategic aircraft. The daily presence of “Doomsday” planes over the US also appear to be the new norm, indicating that military readiness efforts may have reverted back to that of the last Cold War.
Rumors exploded on social media following the reports. As usual, many exceeded well past the realm of confirmation and sailed into that of fear induced anxiety. The most common evolved into the possibility of an imminent nuclear war between Russia and NATO, a claim that DEFCON Warning System itself had never made. This certainly was a possibility based on available information and the current tensions between the two nuclear superpowers, however, there were few facts available to support that particular claim. Rumors such as these would likely not have developed, should official media report World news for what it is and not just for how they wish it to appear.
Some claimed that DEFCON itself was the source of the rumor, and even deemed their statements as false, citing the lack of reports in mainstream media. That in itself was a false claim, considering that should events escalate to a full scale conflict, it’s unlikely that mass media would be informed in a timely manner, or even care to take the time to cover the story. If it doesn’t have to do with transgender rights or the death of a gorilla, it just doesn’t seem like newsworthy material as far as the official media stands today. When mass media does choose to report a potential military conflict, it’s often several days later and stripped of many important facts.
Other outlets praised the organization for their efforts in informing the public of a potential upcoming conflict. It should be noted that DEFCON Warning System does not collect a profit for their contributions. They also do not have a record of sounding the alarm unless at least some credible evidence warrants such an action. Having had the opportunity to actually work with the team this week, I can attest that it took them hours of sifting through various types of information prior to making any statement to the public. The site’s DEFCON status does not reflect any relation to that of any government agency, which they have made clear on many occasions to ensure no confusion. Therefore, their version of the indicator is an estimation determined by information available to them from various sources and open-sourced data.
So why has the military stepped up US defenses? The world is getting crazier, and the past few days left a stench that had not been smelled for over 20 years, that of the last cold war. It’s likely that the White House has finally made the decision to step up America’s defenses, something that had been long overdue since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. Similar to a lack of admission in regard to Islamic Radicalization in the homeland, a new cold war has been denied by the Administration, despite facts to the contrary. Our staff concluded back in 2014, that by definition, the world has in fact entered a new cold war, resulting in yet another arms race. Many private and even Government think tanks support this assessment of the current situation.
Another contribution to the the new readiness may be related to increased fighting in Ukraine, which Russia is likely responsible for, as well as the Russian bombing of US assets in Syria. Recent developments also include a push to declare war on the Assad regime coming from many members of the State Department, which is a move that Russia would likely respond to militarily. NATO has also agreed to further arm the Baltics, an action that propaganda interprets as a buildup for an imminent invasion of Russian territory. And of course, we cannot ignore what is taking place in the South China Sea.
So as we can see, despite a lack in mainstream coverage, the US is experiencing escalation upon escalation in regard to tensions with both Russia and China. That being said, there is no shortage of actions taking place in the World that can result in the military buildup of US forces. While mass media’s primary focus is set on ISIS and politics, the threat of nuclear war continues to become a renewed reality that we may eventually have to face. However unlikely, it certainly makes sense to be prepared for such a scenario.
